Driven by poverty and dated values, 20% of girls in Africa are blindly married before the age of 15; and we aim to reach 0%. National Geographic once stated, “poverty, violence and cultural traditions oppress millions of girls around the world, but some are finding hope through education.” Education is the crucial key to ending the vicious cycle of poverty and gender inequality. Schooling lowers the rates of child marriage by 90%. Education shines light on the unlit path. The degree of luck from birth shouldn’t determine one’s fate.
